When the proxy is complete:

  • After all these steps, when you open websites with free accessible contents (Google, Facebook, for example), proxy is not going to be switched on. When you want to use any of our subscribed databases, proxy will remember and it will require identification in a pop-up.
  • Our databases available via remote access can be used through List of accessible databases in Databases menu of our website. Identification is needed using databases where you can see the following text: " >(to borrow)"
  • When the dialogue window pops up, you have to type your barcode and the relevant password.
  • Your password is your date of birth in this format: MMDD (four figures without dots). (If you were born on the 14th of May, your password is 0514)
    • The password is the same as the one you have when logging in Remote use with the barcode of your reader’s ticket.
    • If you changed your password and forgot it, please ask for the librarian’s help where your reader’s ticket is valid.

  • If you have typing errors or failed authentication, the system pops up the authentication window again.
  • After successful authentication, the browser remembers and you no longer need new authentication, unless the
    browser is closed.
  • These settings are valid until you change your password or the barcode of reader’s card changes. If your browser is changed
or its version is updated, authentication process will be necessary again.
  • Please do not save password if the computer is used not only by you but others as well. In such cases, please close
the browser window if it is not used any more; so, the authentication data are not saved.
  • If you cannot use one or more subscribed databases after successful proxy identification, please write to the
dbproxy@fszek.hu e-mail address. Our colleague will help You.
