Proxy settings on Android devices
The menu items and certain elements of settings might have different names. If you don't see the name in the description, try searching for a function with a similar content. The method and the setting are essentially the same.
Setting up a Proxy server using a Wi-Fi network connection
Go to Settings - Select Wi-Fi - Choose the Wi-Fi network name - Modify the network settings - Go to Advanced options - Provide the Address and Port of the Proxy server - Access the database by logging in
- Open your Android’s Settings.
- Go to Network & Internet (or Networks) then select the Wi-Fi icon from the menu.
- Sign in to set up your network.
- Select the desired network and log into the editing/modifying section.
- Before displaying Advanced options, place a checkmark in the tick box. Scroll down the page and click on the Advanced options.
- In the Proxy server settings, select Manual option, which can be opened with the down arrow.
- Provide the proxy settings.
- Proxy hostname (or Proxy address): dbproxy.fszek.hu
- Proxy port: 3128
- Save the changes.
- Then you need to view the selected database in the browser.
- The Authentication Required window should pop up, where you need to enter the barcode as username and password.
Setting up a Proxy server on a Lenovo Tab M10 HD:
(Note: this setting is applicable to most Lenovo tablets)
- Choose the Network and internet option in Settings.
- In the Network and internet page, tap the WLAN option!
- Tap your own home network on the WLAN page! (Note: the first network on the list, under its name the "Connected" status indicates if you are connected to the internet.)
- Tap the pencil icon in the upper-right corner.
- Opening Advanced options, choose the Proxy / Proxy auto-config option.
- Type in the http://dbproxy.fszek.hu/fszekdb.pac URL into the Proxy auto-config field.
- Save the changes by tapping the SAVE button in the lower-right corner.
Setting up a Proxy server using a mobile network
Go to Settings - Select Mobile networks - Access Access Point Names - Edit the access point - Provide the Address and Port of the Proxy server - Access the database by logging in
- Open your Android’s Settings.
- Under Wireless and mobile networks, select Mobile networks. (or you may find it under More options.)
- Opening up mobile networks.
- Select the network in Access Point Names.
- Edit access point.
- In the Address field, enter the Proxy server name: dbproxy.fszek.hu, then click on the OK button.
- In the Port field, enter the Proxy port number.: 3128, then click on the OK button.
- Then you need to view the selected database in the browser.
Turning off your proxy
Under the Proxy server settings, select Manual option and reset the None (or No) drop-down menu item.
