Using Graded Readers
In language lessons, the framework curriculum established by the Educational Authority recommends that students engage with 1-2 graded readers per year in the foreign language they are learning. Additionally, they are encouraged to evaluate and write a report on the readings as part of their coursework.
To support this task, we highly recommend exploring our collection of foreign language publications, conveniently located on the ground floor of our library. In the Browsing Area, you will discover a diverse range of books written in various languages and proficiency levels. Our selection includes renowned series such as the Oxford Bookworms Library, Penguin Readers, Hueber-Lektüren, Lektüren für Jugendliche, Lecturas ELI adolescentes, and Letture italiano facile.

“....Is there a general guideline for selecting an appropriate level of graded reader?
Choosing the right language level is of utmost importance, along with selecting reading materials that feature captivating and motivating themes. As a general guideline, aim for texts that you can comfortably comprehend. Ideally, limit the number of unfamiliar words on a page to no more than two, although this should not be viewed as an inflexible rule. Remember, graded readers are intended to bring you joy and satisfaction, and it is not necessarily advantageous to assume that you will learn more from materials at a higher level of difficulty."
