Heroes of Budapest - Katalin Bándoli

The head of our Music Collection is one of the Heroes of Budapest. Congratulations!

"Budapest is always with you everywhere, the services provided by the city are part of our everyday lives. The staff of Budapest Family keep Budapest active, they operate the city and, while practically invisible, they turn it green, inclusive, free and colourful, day after day. They are the Heroes of Budapest.
The everyday heroes of the city were mostly known in their surrounding environment. This year, on the 150th anniversary of the merging of Budapest, we introduced them to every "Budapester". The Heroes of Budapest were elected by their direct colleagues, stories and praises about them were written by coworkers."

Katalin Bándoli has been working at Metropolitan Ervin Szabó Library since 1998. The Music Collection, with her leadership, reopened in 2021 in a new place, in a neat, comfortable and modern reading area inside the Central Library. Katalin Bándoli organizes excellent concerts and discussions. Thanks to her programmes, she is a regular and successful participant in the tenders of the National Cultural Fund (NKA) and the Hungarian Academy of Arts. In 2021, she earned the grant of the Ministry of Human Capacities (EMMI). In recognition of her decades of professional work, she received the Ervin Szabó Certificate in 2017 and the Minister's Certificate of Merit in 2022.
