The Metropolitan Ervin Szabó Library warmly invites you to the opening of the exhibition

ZOLTÁN GYÖRGY FEJÉR: BOOK COVERS

on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 5:00 PM

in the Small Gallery of the Central Library.

A welcome speech will be given by Ferenc Farkas, Director of the Central Library of the Metropolitan Ervin Szabó Library.

Zoltán György Fejér will inaugurate the exhibition with a guided tour.

The exhibition will be on display until October 3, 2024, during the library's opening hours.

Location:
MESZL Central Library, 1088 Budapest, Reviczky Street 1.

Zoltán György Fejér, a Balogh Rudolf Prize-winning photographer and member of the Hungarian Academy of Arts, is now showcasing his paintings to the public.

The exhibition includes his abstract expressionist paintings from 2020 to 2022. For some of the paintings, the creator has identified the literary or non-fiction works they are related to. In the digital reproductions, he designed inscriptions directly on the images, as if they were book covers.

Beyond the visual enjoyment of the paintings, the exhibition offers additional opportunities for viewers. Zoltán György Fejér selected the works of writers who had been deceased for at least seventy years as the subjects of his paintings. The artist invites visitors to explore the biographies of these authors, as this can provide a fascinating insight into their remarkable lives. And what better place to do this research than a library?

It’s also possible that viewers might connect the paintings to different works than those suggested by the artist. This kind of personal interpretation is not only welcome but encouraged!

Wishing you an inspiring visit!
