Antonio Vivaldi is a world-renowned and widely respected composer whose works are frequently performed in concert halls. Yet his popularity can be deceptive: behind the often-performed “hit” pieces and familiar biographical facts lies a far more complex and lesser-known career. The first event in violinist and music historian Zsombor Németh's live music performance series for the 2026 season focuses on a lesser-known and recently researched period of the career of the “Red Priest,” immediately preceding the 1711 concerto collection L’estro armonico, Op. 3, which brought him international recognition. During the concert, audiences will gain insight into the young Vivaldi’s artistic journey, explored through the realm of chamber music. The works will be performed by Zsombor Németh together with the musicians of the Simplicissimus Ensemble on period instruments.
