Closure during the holidays
We inform our visitors and readers that the Central Library and all branch libraries of the Metropolitan Ervin Szabó Library are closed from 24th December 2025 to 4th January 2026. During the closure, our online services will be available.
Return to usual opening hours: Friday, 5th January 2026
Outside of this period, we welcome our readers with the usual opening hours. Some of our libraries are exceptions, because they are found in community centers that are also closing for the holidays, so the library will not be able to receive readers:
The Library of Pestújhely (Budapest, XV. Szűcs István str. 45.) will be closed from 23th December 2025 to 4th January 2026.
Opening: Monday, 5th January 2026, 2 p.m.
The Library of Pestszentimre (Budapest, XVIII. Vasút str. 48.) will be closed from 19th December 2025 to 4th January 2026.
Opening: Monday, 5th January 2026, 11 p.m.
The Library of Királyerdő (Budapest, XXI. Szent István road 230.) will be closed from 20th December 2025 to 4th January 2026.
Opening: Monday, 5th January 2026, 12 p.m.
The Library of Csillagtelep (Budapest, XXI. Vénusz str. 2.) will be closed from 20th December 2025 to 4th January 2026.
Opening: Monday, 5th January 2026, 12 p.m.
