"The Silence of the Landscape" - An Exhibition by Márta Várhegyi
Join us for an exhibition of watercolor paintings by Márta Várhegyi, running from December 11, 2023 – January 31, 2024. The exhibition will be open at the Library of Sétáló utca (1211 Budapest, II. Rákóczi F. u. 106.) during regular library hours.
Exhibitor Introduction:
"I am Márta Várhegyi, a 70-year-old grandmother of 4 wonderful grandchildren. After high school, life took me in a different direction, leading me to work as an administrator. Marriage, two daughters, and the responsibilities of raising children left little time for painting. However, the love of painting always lingered within me. I used to say that when I retired, I would have plenty of time to paint. Unfortunately, life had other plans. A couple of years after retirement, I experienced a stroke that left me with complete, right-sided paralysis. Despite the challenges, the yearning to paint persisted. Through willpower and perseverance, I began painting three years ago. This exhibition is a golden opportunity for me to share my journey and my work with you. Time and life have shown that it is worth fighting for your dreams. I am grateful for your support. Thank you, Márta Várhegyi."
