The library also takes the attention of high priority to people who cannot verify immunity against coronavirus, so, under the terms of legal regulations in effect they are not allowed to enter the library buildings.

According to 484/2020. (XI. 10.) Government Decree, in consultation with the maintainer Budapest Municipality, Metropolitan Ervin Szabó Library reopened its libraries for patrons immunized against coronavirus and for minors in their custody on 5th May 2021.
Under the terms of 60/2021. (II.12.) Government Decree, immunity can be verified either with immunity card or by showing immunity certificate in National eHealth Infrastructure (EESZT) mobile application. People under the age of 18 can visit the library alone only if they have own immunity card or immunity certificate in EESZT application. It is obligatory to verify immunity and identity (with identity card, passport or driving licence) before entering the library. However, there are many patrons who still do not have immunity card and so they cannot enter the libraries, though they would like to use the service of circulation. That is why -  considering reader's inquiries - the service of Library Swap Point is still provided by the library; it is available for readers without immunity card; documents requested in advance and reserved can be borrowed without entering the libraries. It is also possible to register, return borrowed documents and settle previous debts at Library Swap Points.

The simultaneous operation of the two types of service needs large-scale organizational tasks to the library,  that is why we kindly ask for your understanding and patience because of occurrent longer waiting time.

It is obligatory to use mask and keep distance in the interest of users and librarians; hand sanitizing is also recommended.

•    The due dates of valid library memberships are freely extended with 30 days

•    Grace period from 5th May to 30th June is given for checking in the documents borrowed before the reopening and are not ovedue; late fees will be charged for these documents only from 1st July  

•    Free reservation is also available until 30th June for our patrons’ convenience and faster service
