Crochet Dream Land – Mrs Attila Dobsi's Exhibition
Mrs Attila Dobsi, our dear reader, will have her amigurumi exhibition on display in our showcases until the end of April 2025!
Introduction of our exhibitor: "A few years ago, I almost accidentally came across a craft magazine, where I first encountered the word amigurumi. As I later learned, it is a Japanese crochet technique, formed from the words 'to crochet' and 'stuffed toy figure.'
I have tried many different kinds of handicrafts and have been doing them almost all my life, starting from childhood. I thought I could bring joy to my grandchildren with colourful, cute figures. That’s how the first snowman was made—though time and use have left their marks on it—and then came the next challenges. The enthusiasm spread to the family; even the adults couldn't resist the charming animals, and soon, I found myself with a long wish list of new favourites to create.
The exhibition includes some veteran pieces as well as many new ones. I hope that visitors to the library will enjoy them as much as we have over the years!"
We welcome all visitors!
