The celebration of one year of the Brazilian Book Club took place in the Metropolitan Ervin Szabó Library, bringing together both Brazilians and Hungarians interested in reading Brazilian Literature. In November, also known as black awareness month in Brazil, the members of the club read "Quarto de despejo: diário de uma favelada" written by the Brazilian female black author Carolina Maria de Jesus, which is translated into Hungarian as "Aki átment a szivárvány alatt: Egy barakkakló naplója". After the discussion of the book, we celebrated the first anniversary of the Brazilian Book Club eating cakes, also together with the collagues of the library who have been carefully arranging the meetings in the library monthly.
