Géza Halász, Economist and Cartoonist
As a student, my caricatures were published in Közgazdász, the newspaper of the Marx Károly University of Economic Sciences. Even as a lecturer in the Department of Informatics, I never gave up drawing. I have taught programming, business IT, and multimedia. Additionally, I managed the university's publishing house, Aula, and designed book covers. I am a founding member of the Caricaturist Section of the MÚOSZ and the MKISZ KOKSZ workshop (the Section of Companion Caricature and Satirical Artists), where I have served as chairman since 2002.
Most of my caricatures are created digitally. My works have been published in several newspapers, including a 20-year-long column titled Halász Géza Show in the cultural and social supplement of Magyar Nemzet. Most recently, I served as the graphic director of Ludas Mátyás, a satirical magazine that lasted 11 months. I also published caricatures and humorous short animated (GIF) sequences on the Új Népszabadság portal, which, unfortunately, has since shut down. I have illustrated several books and published two albums: Retusált művészettörténet (Retouched Art History) and No megállj csak! (Just You Wait).
