About the Artist:
Petra Kiss, born in 1990 in Budapest into a family of musicians, began playing the piano at the age of eight. In 2002, she won both first prize and a special prize at the National György Ferenczy Piano Competition, and later performed Haydn’s Piano Concerto in D major as a soloist with orchestra. Two years later, she was awarded second prize at the Hungarian National Piano Competition, along with a special distinction for the best interpretation of works by Chopin.
In 2009, she performed Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue in the Grand Hall of the Liszt Academy of Music. She was twice awarded the Hungarian Republic Scholarship in recognition of her academic excellence.
Petra Kiss has performed in major cities across Europe and made her Chinese debut at the National Cultural Centre in Beijing in 2013. She earned her bachelor's degree with honours from the Liszt Academy of Music, and went on to complete her master’s studies under Jacques Rouvier at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. She currently teaches at Musikum in Grödig and maintains an active international concert career as a soloist.
