Chopin and His Contemporaries: The Piano Poetry of Romanticism

The concert will highlight the works of the most prominent figures in Romantic piano literature, with a special focus on Chopin's pieces inspired by Polish dances, including polonaises, mazurkas, and waltzes. The evening will also feature compositions by Schubert, Liszt, and Brahms, performed as both solo pieces and four-hand duets.

Béla Grünwald and Pál Mezei have been close friends for over thirty years and have played together in many concerts, both in Hungary and abroad. In 2022, they performed at the Krakow Philharmonic in Poland as part of the 'Year of Romanticism' celebrations.
