Architecture is frozen music.

The Metropolitan Ervin Szabó Library cordially invites you and your friends to the opening of the exhibition "Living Spaces – Signs – Spaces" by Alex Bernáth J.

Opening Date: Friday, November 14, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.

Welcome Speech: Ferenc Farkas, Director of the MESZL Central Library.

The exhibition will be open for viewing until December 12, 2025, during the library's opening hours.

Venue: MESZL Central Library Exhibition and Study Space, 1088 Budapest, Reviczky u. 1.

As the title of my exhibition suggests, in the images exhibited here I present renovated or recently completed high-quality community-built spaces, buildings, and emblematic urban development sites in Budapest, in which our European identity and innovative, creative thinking are also present.

Beyond and alongside these living spaces, I would also like to draw attention to the smaller architectural elements of the past that are still alive today, for which I suggest the slogan: "Look up at Budapest!"

For indeed, and quite often, treasures and traces of bygone times may be hiding up there — waiting quietly above, while we rush past beneath and beside them, swept along by the pace of our age.

Therefore, I believe that the built environment is not just a passage. A well-designed living space and creative environment speak to the people who inhabit them, enriching their sense of life and filling them with joy and inspiration in their daily lives.
