Photo: MESZLA section for children has been functioning in the library in Török street since its earliest days. A lot of things changed certainly over the decades but the ambition to put people in the mood to read is the same.
Children under the age of ten can select from age specific books and periodicals in their section, but DVDs, audio books are available for them too and there is a separate place for the literature for teenagers as well.
A wide range of picture books, story books, poems, novels, comics, educational books etc. is available for children. We also have more than 200 filmstrips.
And besides we help finding what you would like to borrow by heightening serials and popular themes. New and foreign language books – mostly English – are separated and the beginner readers can also select volumes from several shelves.
On Monday afternoons between five and six o’clock there is a program called Mesekuckó for the youngest including slideshows, fairy tales, poems, music and arts and crafts. Everyone under the age of 16 can use the library for free. There is a fee only for borrowing DVDs and audio books.
