Directory and content analysis
As pieces of digitized bibliographies of sociology history, 2 volumes of the directory of the periodical Magyar Szemle were published that were made (written) by the cooperation of Metropolitan Ervin Szabó Library and Institute of Sociology, Eötvös Loránd University in 1989, as the third volume of the series „Magyar Szociológiatörténeti füzetek”.
The periodical was published between 1927 and 1944 providing the authentic and detailed picture of the history, social, cultural and political events of Horthy era.
Besides detailed bibliographical processing of the periodical with a history (done from more aspects), to understand the historical and social background and conditions in which the periodical was edited, József Saád, sociology historian, editor of the volume, wrote an introduction providing a review of history of science as well.
It is worth highlighting the index of authors and thematic selection of the articles, by content as the most important indices made to help with acquiring information in the content of the journal.
This important media organization, the periodical of the history of Hungarian society and culture is made available to the wider public by publishing the content of the electronic version including more than 400 pages, preserving the structure of the original volumes.
