Béres Tímea és Jeszenszky-Böhm Attila

The program features a selection of works by composers from three Latin American countries—Venezuela, Bolivia, and Argentina. In the first part of the concert, we honor the Venezuelan composer Modesta Bor, who was born 100 years ago, with a selection of her songs and piano works. Bolivia is represented by Eduardo Caba, whose songs, drawing on Indigenous musical traditions, will be performed. From the Argentine repertoire, Carlos Guastavino’s lyrical lullabies will be presented. The highlight of the program is the world premiere of works by Argentine composer Esteban Ariel D’Antona: songs and piano pieces being performed publicly for the first time.

Program:
Modesta Bor: songs and piano works
Eduardo Caba: songs in an Indigenous-inspired style
Carlos Guastavino: lyrical lullabies
Esteban Ariel D'Antona: songs and piano works (premiere)

Featuring:
Tímea Béres (soprano)
Attila Jeszenszky-Böhm (piano)

Tímea Béres is a Hungarian lyric soprano. She began her studies in Milan under the guidance of Bianca Maria Casoni and later graduated from the Arrigo Pedrollo Conservatory in Vicenza as a student of Elisabetta Andreani. Her artistry is characterized by a blend of the Hungarian vocal tradition and the Italian bel canto style. In 2025, she was a finalist at the Vienna International Music Competition and won third prize at the Danubia Talents Ferenc Liszt International Competition in Rome. Her performances include appearances in Milan at the invitation of the Friends of La Scala (2016, 2019, 2023, and 2025), at the Italian Cultural Institute in Budapest, and at the Vienna Opera Festival in the summer of 2026.
Her repertoire ranges from opera and operetta to chamber music, and through her performances, she aims to make classical vocal art accessible to the widest possible audience.

Attila Jeszenszky-Böhm was born in Buenos Aires to immigrant parents. He studied piano at the Juan José Castro Conservatory in Argentina and later began studying composition, initially as a self-taught composer. Several of his works have been performed in concert halls in Buenos Aires. In 1999, he was awarded a Hungarian government scholarship and moved to Budapest, where he continued his studies in composition, first under Miklós Kocsár and Miklós Csemiczky, and later under Tamás Beischer-Matyó. He considers it an important mission to promote the works of both well-known and lesser-known Latin American composers.
