All the pieces in the concert program have strong ties to French music. Bach's renowned dance suite is followed by Chopin's large-scale sonata in B minor, and then the Catalan Federíco Mompou's incomparably honest and clear-sounding series, and finally Ravel's suite can be heard in tribute to the memory of his great predecessor, François Couperin.
Ignasi Prunés de Riba began his studies in l'Ametlla del Vallès and later continued at the Escolania Montserrat, where he studied piano and organ with Carles Viarnès, Mercè Sanchís, and Marta Torrents. He then pursued further studies at the IEO Oriol Martorell art school in Barcelona under Xavier Pardo. Graduating with honors with a Bachelor's degree from the Escuela Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC) in Barcelona, he studied with Denis Lossev.
Currently, he is pursuing a Master's degree at the Liszt Academy, where he was previously instructed by Péter Nagy and is currently under the guidance of András Kemenes and László Borbély. Ignasi has performed in several European countries including Germany, Italy, Croatia, and Hungary, with notable appearances at venues such as the Auditori de Barcelona. In addition to his piano studies, he completed his degree in organ performance at the Granollers Conservatory, and later at ESMUC under the guidance of Juan de la Rubia and Óscar Candendo. He continues his organ studies at the Academy of Music under the mentorship of János Pálúr.
