E-book loan service in Metropolitan Ervin Szabó Library

E-könyv olvasó eszköz rajzaThe service, currently in test mode, is accessible free of charge for readers who have library cards with borrowing privileges.

In the databases the library has subscribed to, there were science books available as e-books for years, but with our new service non-fiction and fiction literature will be accessible for loan in e-book format. The Metropolitan Ervin Szabó Library has decided, according to the needs of our readers, to launch this development, after a survey was done in spring of 2024 amongst the users through our website and social media platforms, in order to shape this service to the needs, wants and reading habits of its users. We would like to thank the feedback of every person who filled out the survey!

As per the results of the survey, on 14th May 2024 the library is launching the e-book and audiobook loan service for all enrolled readers - namely those with borrowing privileges - through the platform called CloudLibrary. Thanks to this new service, our readers will have access to not just science literature, but also contemporary literature, entertainment literature, bestsellers and self-help books of psychology, parenting and life management in e-book format, even from home, remotely 24/7.
