LaserSymphony
Interactive exhibition of unique instruments at MESZL's Ötpacsirta Salon
This exciting collection of special instruments arrives in Budapest from the Public Library of Odorheiu Secuiesc. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore these fascinating devices through free, interactive sessions. Among the highlights, visitors can discover a laser harp, a PocketDrum air drum set, and the first electronic instrument, the Theremini Moog, which is played using gestures without physical contact. Another standout is the Playtronica Touch Me, which transforms the intensity of touch between people into sound, effectively turning the human body into a musical instrument.
The exhibition will be inaugurated by Ágnes Kovácsné Koreny, Director General of the Metropolitan Ervin Szabó Library, and Endre Szőcs, Director of the Public Library of Odorheiu Secuiesc, on 20 November 2024 at 3 PM in the Ötpacsirta Salon of MESZL (Budapest, 4 Ötpacsirta Street, District VIII).
As part of the event, a professional cooperation agreement will be signed between the two institutions. This partnership continues a tradition of collaboration, as MESZL librarians previously held sessions at the Odorheiu Secuiesc Library during the Open Books Night last summer.
Admission is free, but registration is required. To register, send an email to koncertregisztracio@fszek.hu or call +36 1 411-5011, including the number of participants. A confirmation will be sent upon successful registration. As seating is limited, we kindly request that you inform us via email if you are unable to attend, so others may take advantage of the opportunity.
The privacy policy for registration-based programs is available here.
The exhibition will be open by appointment until the end of the academic year, through April 2025. The one-hour program is recommended for children aged 9 and older. The library welcomes groups of 10 to 25 people on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Applications are open to educational institutions, families, groups of friends, and retirees.
