Collection

The Music Collection collects and offers music books, scores and media (CDs, DVDs, and vinyl records) from a wide variety of eras, geographical range and genres for perusal on the spot and for loan. In addition to classical music, there is a considerable number of documents on jazz, blues, folk music, pop music, music for films, musical and operetta style. Literature available on the shelf includes books in multiple languages besides Hungarian. Encyclopediae and other books to be used on the spot are available for education and research purposes.

The collection of scores and miniature scores includes critical editions (Urtext – see), educational scores for various musical instruments, full scores and parts for chamber music and vocal compositions, piano scores and full scores for orchestra compositions.
