Dienes Collection of Dance History
Our library has received the book collection of late dance historian, artist and critic Dr. Gedeon Dienes. The collection includes books and journals on dance, works on the history of dance, encyclopediae on ballet, biographies of dancers and choreographers, annuals of opera houses and ballet ensembles, writings on dance technique and photo collections on a variety of styles from classical ballet to contemporary dance. Literature related to orchestics of the first half of 20th century is quite rich; some books about significant dancers of the whole century can be found in the collection as well.
