On 17 April, we held an unusual English-language lecture in our library, the first in a series of lectures. Cultural historian András Török presented some of Budapest's hidden treasures. He mentioned the Massolit Budapest Café, the Budapest Music Center, the Cirkó cinema clock and the "candle money" paid in the Opera House. Török presented his English-language book “The 500 Hidden Secrets of Budapest”, which describes other interesting places and places of interest.
Based on the vote of the enthusiastic audience, the topic for the next session was also decided, Török will next give a lecture on the history and curiosities of Theresa Toen, where our library is sitauted. Some people registered for the next event on the spot. The lecture was - figuratively speaking - “sold out”. (It was free, as all our events are.) …
