Exhibition of Painter József Harb

You are warmly invited to the posthumous exhibition of József Harb, celebrating the artist’s 95th birthday, on Monday, 14 October 2024, at 6 PM  at the Boulevard Library.

The exhibition will be opened by Balázs Feledy, art critic.


József Harb graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts (now the Hungarian University of Fine Arts) in 1957, where he studied under Géza Fónyi and Károly Koffán. In 1957-58, he was awarded the MM scholarship.
From 1957 to 1963, he regularly exhibited at FKS shows and participated in group exhibitions at the Ernst Museum, the Kunsthalle, and in Szeged. Additionally, he created etchings.
Later in his career, he became increasingly involved in the restoration of historic monuments, contributing to the restoration of frescoes by Maulbertsch, Dorffmeister, Kracker, Lotz, and Mór Than.
